Record high temperatures possible Mother’s Day weekend

Kids and dads, listen up!

This is the most important weekend of the year to get right, so let’s help you plan it!

Record breaking warmth is possible this weekend as a weak cold front moves closer to South Florida.

Ahead of this front, a westerly wind will begin to take hold over South Florida Friday and into Saturday. This west wind will allow temperatures to climb into the mid-90s Friday and Saturday afternoon!

Factor in the humidity to these temperatures and our heat indices will cross that 100 degree mark for the first time this year.

Hello Summer!

Don’t expect rain to bring heat relief as rain chances remain very low. Only an isolated shower is possible Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, we do get a northwest wind shift to start our Mother’s Day Sunday.

This will allow our temperatures and humidity to drop just a little bit. We’ll be making breakfast with slightly lower humidity and temperatures in the mid-70s.

Bountiful sunshine will allow our highs to hit the low 90s with heat indices Sunday afternoon in the mid-90s. Best to make those brunches indoors to keep mom cool and make it a pool/beach day as rain chances are slim to none.
